The beginning of a smoke- free journey

I've been a smoker for five years now, ever since 2019. That year marked a big transition in my life, i turned 18 and was deployed to the army. In Israel, joining the army is mandatory, and the experience is intense.

In the army, smoking wasn't a habit, it was almost a necessity. Everyone smoked. It was reasonable excuse to take a break during the long, demanding days. At the time, it didn't feel like i had much of a choice. Smoking become my way of coping, my chance to step away, even if only for a few minutes. It started as something small but soon become a constant part of my life.

Now, five years later, in a new country, new beginning, new life, im ready to leave it behind. Smoking is no longer just a habit, its something that's been holding me back. I've decided it's time to take control of my health and my choices, and this blog is part of that journey.

Here, I'll share the ups and downs, the challenges, and the small victories as i work to quit. I'll also dig into the psychology of change because let's face it, quitting smoking is as much a mental battle as it is physical. This isn't going to be easy, but it's a step i need to take.
